IMPERIAL CITIES AND KASBAHS
Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat
Welcome at the airport.
Transfer to the hotel. City tour to visit the central market, the residential area of Anfa, the coast road and its luxurious villas. Lunch at the restaurant.The Afternoon: visit to the Great Mosque Hassan II and guided tour of the city. Continue to Rabat. Dinner and night at the hotel in Rabat.
Day 2: Rabat - Meknes
Visit Rabat, the administrative capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, The Royal Palace, Mohamed V mausoleum, the Kasbah, the gate and the gardens of Oudaya, the Hassan Tower and the Chellah, a very romantic site. Lunch during the journey. Departure to Meknès in the late afternoon.
You shall go through the cork-oak forest of Mamora and the harmonious countryside landscapes of the North of Morocco. Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 3: Meknes - Moulay Idriss - Fes
Visit the medina of Meknès, the tomb, corn lofts and stables of Moulay Ismail, the Sultan who remodelled the city and made it the capital of Morocco in 1680, at the same time as Louis the 14th in France. Visits to the famous regional stud farm which is the most important in North Africa containing magnificent purebred horses. Lunch at Volubilis Inn hotel.
Day 4: The medina of Fez
Discover with your guide the narrow streets of the Medina of FES, the most beautiful of the Maghreb (North Africa), its numerous quarters of craftsmen who are still working according to the Moroccan traditional way; weavers, dyeing, potters.
Visit to the place of Henna, the quarter of blacksmiths and the quarter of Andalusians. Lunch in the Medina in the quarter of cabinetmakers, in a very ancient palace. In the afternoon, a visit to the wonderful “Mederssa Bouanania” ( a coranic school dating from the period of the Merinides), the place, the fountain and the museum Nejjarine, Karaouine university, and the Mausoleum Moulay Idriss, the founder of Fez. Dinner and night in FES at the hotel.
Day 5: Fez - Ifrane - Midelt - Tinerhir
Driving from FEZ through the pass of Kandar, with its wooded slopes of holm oak and pine trees and its panorama overlooking the plains of SAISS. Continuation to the unusual station of IFRANE on the edge of the famous forest of cedar trees, then we continue to MIDELT, a city set up high in the mountains (at 1488 m) in an astonishing site in the foothills of Jbel Ayachi (at 3737 m). Lunch at Kasbah Asmaa of Midelt. Driving through the Gorges of ZIZ and the road of the Kasbahs to Tinerhir, at the beginning of the Gorges of Todra. Stop for a while to discover the famous Gorges of Todra. Dinner and night in a typical hotel.
Day 6: Tinerhir - Boumelane - Ouarzazate - Marrakesh
Driving to Marrakesh through Ouarzazate, always following the picturesque road of Kasbahs, along the valley of Dadès and via Kelaa-M-Gouna, the Moroccan capital of flowers, before climbing up the spectacular pass of Tizzi-N-Tichka (at 2260 m) via Skoura for a tour in the palm grove which leads to Amerdhidil Kasbah and its impressive Ksar. Arrival to Marrakech, check-in at the hotel. Dinner and night at the hotel
Day 7: Marrakesh
Day devoted to the discovery of Marrakesh, imperial city founded in 11 th century and the capital of the South Morocco. Start the visit with the external part of the city, the gardens, the Menara, the ramparts and the palm groves. Continue with the fascinating old city will unveil to you the famous tombs of the Saadians (an ancient Moroccan Dynasty), Bahia Palace, the Minaret of Koutoubia, Jamaa el Fna , a place of exchange in the heart of the Medina, the Souks and the typical covered alleys full of handicraft shops and retail merchants. Lunch at Dar si Aissa (a centre for craft industry). Dinner and night at the hotel.
Day 8: Marrakesh - Casablanca
Return flight from Marrakech or departure to Casablanca by road. Return Flight.
